I joined the Icarus development team a few months before release with the main objective of working on the VFX pipeline and optimization. Other tasks I've handled are bug fixing, shader creation, lighting, tech art systems upgrades, maintenance and miscellaneous development.
Most systems were already in place, so a big part of my experience was learning and understanding them to further refine them. I specifically worked on producing, optimizing, and refining VFX systems (in-engine and using EmberGen) including fires, creatures, and environmental effects for weather and different biomes, helping implement an LOD system, maintenance on RVT systems, and creating or updating materials.
